Warehouse Lighting has come a very long way!
Warehouse lighting effiency is one of those things that business owners must address. Imagine cutting your lighting costs in half, possibly saving thousands every month, and getting better lighting at the same time. By retrofitting warehouse light fixtures with energy efficient electronic fluorescent high bay light fixtures, the energy savings is staggering in some cases. With every warehouse that we retrofit, we custom design the lighting in order to ensure the correct lighting distribution, and in many cases, reduce the amount of lights. Our warehouse lighting retrofits typically have a 2 year payback, and after that, all the energy savings go straight into your pocket. Check out this video from one of our larger warehouse jobs!
This video is a perfect example of what we do: maximum energy savings, maximum money in your pocket!
Warehouse Lighting Efficiency
Xcel Energy is the company that sells most of us our power here in Metro Denver, and they are giving companies rebates as an incentive to replace or retrofit their inefficient lighting. Most inefficient warehouses these days have one of either three types of lighting: T12 fluorescent, 400 watt Metal Halide (MH) high bays, or 400 watt High Pressure Sodium (HPS) high bays. Xcel is offering $110.00 per MH or HPS fixture that you replace with an energy efficient electronic high bay fluorescent light fixture, and if you live in Denver, they are offering an additional $90.00 per fixture. Including installation, fixture, and extra parts, the cost to install each light is between $200-300, depending on the access to the lights and the scope of the job. Generally, a high bay fluorescent lighting retrofit will cut the energy usage in half, depending on the amount of light required for the new application.
Those rebates that I was talking about are considered prescriptive rebates, which means that Xcel has a system set up to push the rebates through more quickly. If the new efficient application does not have a corresponding prescriptive rebate, then we can set up a custom application. In the world of custom lighting retrofits, Xcel pays rebates according to how much energy will be saved, so the more energy efficient you make your new lights, the less it costs you! We can attach motion sensors to the high bay fluorescent lights ($50.00 rebate per motion sensor), as I will show you in this video:
