As of March, 2011, Xcel Energy has increased the rebate amounts for switching from magnetic, inefficient lighting to electronic fluorescent, which is much more efficient. The 50% increase includes retrofits that are switching from T12 fluorescent to T8 fluorescent lighting. These rebates are prescriptive--meaning that the job is not required to be approved by Xcel's engineers prior to the actual work. Custom applications also increased the rebate amount by 50%, but only for the T12 to T8 retrofits. visit: www.heselectric.com/energy-rebates.html for details about lighting rebate amounts.

These increased rates are going to stay in effect until the end of 2011, which means that the job must be finished in 2011.

Xcel has a list of approved lighting contractors which includes Heritage Electric. Visit:  http://www.denver-electrician.net , an electrician in denver.
